Rich, silky, and super easy to make, this chocolate sauce is made by melting dark chocolate chips along with light agave syrup, water, and pure vanilla extract. That’s it! We call it our perpetual chocolate sauce pot because we keep it on our stove at all times. You can also refrigerate it and heat it whenever you want a spoonful of chocolate sauce on ice cream, frozen yogurt, cake, or cookies. Or, by the spoonful! We love to serve it with berry desserts too, like strawberry shortcake, chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, or homemade frozen yogurt.
This chocolate sauce has so many uses, you’ll be making your second batch in no time!
Homemade Dark Chocolate Sauce
Silky and creamy, this chocolate sauce is easy to make with just four simple ingredients: dark chocolate, light agave syrup, water, and vanilla extract.
Ingredients
- 10 oz. dark chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate bar)
- 2 tbsp. light agave syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until chocolate is melted. Turn up heat just long enough to bring the sauce to a low boil. Whisk until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Reheat in the microwave or in a small saucepan over low heat. Or, just keep it in the original saucepan on the stove top until youve eaten it all up!
