Ingredients
3/4cupyellow onionchopped
3tbsp.vegetable oil
1cupketchup
1tbsp.soy sauce
1cupwater
1tbsp.granulated sugar
2tbsp.Worcestershire sauce
2tbsp.French’s mustard(can use Dijon, if you prefer)
1/2tsp.ground pepper
2-3tbsp.fresh lemon juice
1cupmashed fresh mango*optional
1/4 cupBourbon*optional
Instructions
In medium sauce pan, heat oil and cook onions until just beginning to brown. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Bring to a boil and boil for one full minute, stirring constantly. Remove from the stove. Cool or use immediately. You can freeze this sauce, but it also keeps for several weeks in the refrigerator.
If you want to add the mango and bourbon, simply add it with all the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil as the instruction above indicates.
