Mix basting sauce ingredients together and shake well. Set aside.
Place chicken in a well-greased or sprayed roasting pan and bake for the first 20 minutes without any basting sauce.
Now, remove the chicken from the oven and pour basting sauce over the entire chicken, and continue to cook for another hour, or until internal temp reaches 165 F on a meat thermometer, basting every 20 minutes with pan juices.
Cooking time may vary depending up the size of the chicken.
Carve chicken and serve with Basmati fried rice.
